Silage Time

A lot of the grass has been cut here ready to make silage for the animals during the winter months. The grass is mowed and then picked up by the baler which in turn produces bales of silage. These bales are then picked up by tractor and trailer and stacked at the farm ready for winter.

Red Sky At Night.......Shepherds Delight

Ok..... so the sky here is not quite red but looks incredible. I took this on an evening stroll walking up the farm track looking out towards Tyneham.

Mentioning Tyneham follow this link for the Lulworth and Tyneham range access opening times to the public: Lulworth Range Access

The start of summer!

Well we are now in June and the first official day of summer (21st June) is well on its way. A majority of the pet lambs we have reared have now gone out to new pastures and are beginning to flourish.

The summer is a busy time of year on a farm as we are now silaging, mowing, rolling and continue to look after the new lambs that have been born as well as the sheep and cows.

The campsite is fully open and with a predicted hot weather weekend coming up why not come and pitch up and enjoy the tranquillity here at Steeple Leaze Farm.
